The resort’s four open-plan cabins are perfect for two humans and a dog, with direct-to-outdoors access, a wood-burning fireplace and kitchenette. Spacious guest houses are on a private wooded lane with private yards, many with amenities from mountain-view balconies to decks with hot tubs. The resort, set on 700 private acres of woods and meadows, includes 60 kilometers of hiking/cross-country skiing/snowshoeing trails, which link up with the popular Long Trail. Dog walkers are available with advance notice.

The dogs will love exploring the area’s many paths and trails, including spring and summer meadows, colorful leafy byways in autumn and snow-covered trails in winter. Take the Faulkner Trail at the Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park and be rewarded with panoramic views of Woodstock from the South Peak of Mount Tom. Dogs are also permitted on the patio at Long Trail Brewery and inside the Vermont Country Store.
