The Lang House on Main Street, where 19th-century charm meets 21st-century service, is a comfortable, convenient location for families ready to explore Burlington, VT and Northern Vermont area. All 11 guest rooms, including two in the cottage-like Carriage House, have en suite bathrooms, wifi and air conditioning. A sumptuous, nutritious breakfast is served each morning featuring everything from pancakes and waffles to egg dishes and granola. Home-baked goodies are offered every afternoon. The bustling Church Street Marketplace, a pedestrian-only area with fun shops, restaurants and cultural venues, is just three blocks away. Nearby activities include biking, walking and jogging at Waterfront Park, farmers markets and hiking paths. It’s just a short drive to the Shelburne Museum and to Shelburne Farms, with a children’s farmyard.

Good family camping; hikes and walks; lake swimming; pets but not on beach

This is a fun park for family camping. The campground has 45 tent or trailer sites and 15 for lean-tos. Two restrooms in the campground with hot showers. A sanitary dump station is available; no hookups.

A beach house on Lake Elmore may be rented from Memorial to Labor Day. The beach house has a function room that holds 50 people, also for rent. An open-air picnic pavilion that seats up to 100 people may be rented by the day. It has charcoal grills, tables, restrooms nearby, electricity, wheelchair access. - Campground Map (PDF)

Many campsites; large sandy beach, swimming, shore fishing, sports fields

This park is located on the shores of the very beautiful South Hero Island (also known as Grand Isle). It is large, and has the most-visited campground in the state and a destination park for many camping families. Ease distance from Burlington, VT, and Montreal, Quebec.

The park has 117 tent or trailer sites, 36 lean-to sites, and 4 cabins. Rest rooms have running water and hot showers for a fee. There is a trailer sanitary station but no hookups. Rustic camping at tent and lean-to sites; road not for RVs and trailers

The park includes a log picnic shelter, The park contains a small campground, picnic grounds, a group camping area, and a picnic shelter. The campground has a bathroom with flush toilets and cold running water (no showers). In the lower camp area, near the ranger station, there are 11 tent sites and 6 lean-to sites. Bathrooms has cold water and flush toilets (no showers). Campsites are walk-in. This market has everything you’d expect from a community market in Vermont; fresh produce, meats, flowers, herbs, baked good, handmade soaps, lotions and other body products, and locally crafted gifts. Held rain or shine. Preordering is available. No pets will be allowed at the market.

Burlington boasts a robust farmers market featuring New England made and grown products. There is an indoor winter market as well as an outdoor summer market. Pre-ordering available.

Season and Hours: Open daily from May 1 to December 24; Apple season is September to mid-October.
